Healing and a life changer

Helped me to understand what grace is and why it's important to having healthy relationships. Honesty has always come easily to me but not grace. It was denied me by my mother so I did not know how to give it to others. Since reading this book I've been making a more conscious effort to be more gracious when I feel wronged and/or people make mistakes.

A Wonderful Place to Begin Healing

This book can be a real life changer if the person reading is willing to be spoken to. I love how Cloud gives a wide variety of illustrations for people in very different situations to illustrate the points he's making. I've gone through this book several times with different people and found many of them to be helped dramatically. On the flip side, if a person isn't willing to face the reality of the way they are acting that is sabotaging their life, then they'll get nothing from this and will continue in their destructive patterns. But if you are willing, Cloud offers very practical help. I recommend going through something like this in conjunction with Steps to Freedom from Neil Anderson for true, life changing healing.

Purchase any of his books and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I purchased the book for my best friend as a gift. She was going through a very difficult time in her relationship with her long time boyfriend. I have read enough of Henry Cloud's books to know that I couldn't go wrong by giving her this book. I spoke with her recently and she was so thankful for this gift. She was able to gather enough information from the text to know that their relationship was toxic and leave it behind.
I have found that it doesn't matter which of his books you purchase you will always find information that applies to your life. The first book I purchased was 'Beyond Boundaries'. I purchased that particular due to a recommendation from my therapist. I was going through a divorce and was in an extremely depressed state. There were so many things addressed in this book that applied to me. I was able to make it through that stage in my life in one piece. I also derived much more knowledge which has enabled me to go through life more confident and able to develop healthier relationships. You cannot go wrong by purchasing any of his books.
