The book is fine. Or I will say: "Meh." Like too many textbooks it is about as dry and boring as it could possibly be. Unfortunately, this Authors assume that you need to know about every insignificant little detail, so they write a long and boring commentary about everything, in an attempt at being all inclusive about the subject. Really this should be 2 books: "The stuff you need to know." And, "The stuff you probably already figured out on your own."

Practical information is provided on how to identify and treat these common impedements to successful neural therapy. The final chapter offers a medical paradigm showing that neural therapy can be easily integrated into mainstream medical practice.

Neural therapy is underutilized in the US ,you can consider it a contemporary alternative medicine technique that promotes healing. The technique was developed by the Henke brothers in Germany and was brought to the US by Dr Klinghardt.
Dr Kidd is a Canadian pioneer in this field and he was the first one in my mind was able to establish the relation between different types of alternative modalities such as Osteopathy and Acupuncture, and now adding new technologies that rely on scalar energy such as the TENS camdevice.
The book is a master piece in Neural therapy and should be read by every doctor interested in this field. In addition you can subscribe to Dr Kidd E mail where he gives you an update every month .I found these updates so interesting and practical.

In 2001 she became Member of the Management Board of Kirchhoff Consult Germany and Managing Director of the Swiss subsidiary. In 2009 she did a MBO of the Swiss subsidiary, which she owns and currently runs. Petra has published many articles for professional journals and has conducted various research studies.

Jean Jinghan Chen is a Chair Professor of Financial Management at Surrey Business School, UK. Prior to this she obtained a PhD in Economics from Lancaster University. Her research interests cover a wide range of topics in the area of financial economics and financial management, in particular, corporate finance and corporate governance, where she has published widely in books and leading academic journals, such as Corporate Governance: An International Review, European Accounting Review, European Financial Management, Journal of Business Research, International Review of Finance and Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics. She serves on the editorial board for the academic journals Corporate Governance: An International Review and Journal of Accounting Studies - A Publication of the Accounting Society of China, and is an associate editor of Nankai Business Review International. She is also a regular reviewer for 6 major international academic journals in financial and economic studies and has delivered international conference plenary/keynote speeches and seminars on topics related to corporate governance, participating in advisory and review bodies.

We will lay aside, for the present, our inquiries into the general subject of the primitive civilizations of the far East, and the people who have sprung from the Brahminic stock in the old world, in order to publish the result of such researches as we have been able to make, during our long residence in India, into the subject of occult science, and the practices of those who have been initiated into the sect of the Pitris, which is Sanskrit for spirits or ancestral shades.

This is neither a doctrinal book nor a work of criticism.

We are not called upon to decide, either for or against, the belief in spirits, either mediating or aspiring, which was held by all who had been initiated in the temples of antiquity, which is to-day the keystone of the philosophical and religious instruction of the Brahmins, and to which many of our Western thinkers and scientists seem inclined to assent.

Being neither an advocate of this belief, nor the opposite, we are, on that account, better able to write its history.

An ardent partisan would have been too credulous, and would have taken everything upon trust. A rabid opponent would have made it his business to disparage and discredit it.

We shall give the words themselves, and set forth things as they actually were ; we shall interpret and explain the Agrouchda-parikchai, which is the philosophical compendium of the Hindu spiritists; we shall tell what we saw with our own eyes, and shall faithfully record such explanations as we received from the Brahmins.

We shall pay particular attention to the phenomena which the Fakirs produce at will, which some regard as the manifestations of a superior intervention, and others look upon as the result of a shrewd charlatanism.

Upon this point we have but a word to say.

The facts which are simply magnetic are indisputable, extraordinary as they may seem.

As to the facts which are purely spiritual, we were only able to explain those in which we participated, either as actor or spectator, upon the hypothesis that we were the victims of hallucination — unless we are willing to admit that there was an occult intervention.

We shall describe things just as we saw them, without taking sides in the dispute.

These doctrines were known to the Egyptians, to the Jewish Cabalists, to the people of Finland, to the school of Alexandria, to Philo and his disciples, to the Gauls and to the early Christians, and, as in the case of the Hindus, they set them apart for the use of those who had been initiated. As for the ancient Chaldeans, the practice of popular magic and sorcery seems to have been the utmost limit of their attainments in this direction.

They have also given birth to a peculiar system of moral philosophy, whose place in the general scale of the metaphysical speculations of mankind we shall take occasion to point out.

On the evening before the funeral sraddha is to take place, or on the day itself, he who gives the sraddha should, with all due respect, invite at least three Brahmins, such as those which have been already mentioned.

And old textbook -still a "goodie"

Years ago, I took a decorating class at the local college, and this was our textbook. I was clueless when it came to decorating, and this book along with the class taught me sooooo much. I didn't want to be a professional decorator, I just wanted to know how to decorate my own (then new) house.

It covers, style, texture, color, design, use of space, everything you would want/need to know. Yes, it is a little dated - at least the photos - but it still holds up! The new versions are, I beleive, for decorating students who need to know how to deal with clients, how to estimate, etc.

I bought this one among a few others, recently for my future daughter in law, who has never decorated anything, and is starting from scratch.

I recommend this book for any decorating beginner.
